Just a friendly reminder that the Beef Drop Label Contest ends this Sunday! Ken "kenfused" Siders has ported the popular arcade game Burgertime to the Atari 5200, where it will be released under the name Beef Drop. While a disk-based version of Burgertime was released for the Atari 8-bit computers, this version has been written from scratch to be more faithful to the arcade version than the older 8-bit port. Beef Drop needs an original, Atari 5200-style label, leading us to team up with Ken Siders to sponsor a Beef Drop Label Contest! The winner of the contest will receive a free copy of Beef Drop, a $50 gift certificate in the AtariAge Store, and credit in the manual for his or her creation. Visit this page for more details about the contest, view the entries that have beens submitted thus far here, and you can view screenshots from the game and download a demo of the game from the Beef Drop In Development page. Did you know that the unreleased Atari 7800 game Klax has three impossible levels right at the very end? According to programmer David Dentt, he put these three "impossible" levels after the original 100, but very few people are aware of their existence. The levels aren't actually impossible, but you'll need to be very clever in order to beat them. David Dentt has graciously hacked Klax so everyone can now try each of these three levels without having to play through the first 100. You can read more about each of these levels over on AtariProtos.com, and you can download the levels and discus them with other AtariAge visitors in our Atari 7800 Forum. Enjoy!
